Well, this has been a big week...Ryan has a second tooth coming in...he is sitting unsupported now...his hair is showing signs of coming in...his grasp and coordination has developed in a huge leap forward this week...he is becoming more vocal every day...he is working very hard at trying to crawl -although most of his efforts send him backwards instead of forwards, it won't be long before he is everywhere.
In addition, Mark has had a huge week! He has a number of outstanding possibilities, but we now have 3 very live opportunities in the works. He had a 2nd interview with one company this week and expects to set up a follow-up meeting next week. The second opportunity - he had an interview this week and will have a second interview lunch next Wednesday. The third opportunity - the initial interview was scheduled for Friday (yesterday), but got rescheduled for next Tuesday. I think that was actually a good thing...He has had better than 6 hours of phone interviews this week and the many hours of prep for both. He is truly enjoying the process and getting fired up about "getting back into the game", but it's pretty exhausting too. Next week is going to be a lot of fun! We truly expect and believe that one of these is "the ONE". All 3 seem like really good opportunities...praying that our time has come and we will be blessed with a great job.
Next week is a big week for my parents too. Daddy has not 1 but 2 second interviews on Wednesday. We are very excited for him! It's going to be really good. I don't know what it is about December 5th, but it's going to be a BIG day. Daddy has his 2 and Mark has 1, and Mama will have and MRI that day. She has not been feeling well and has been experiencing severe ear aches and head aches. We are praying that she gets some good news and some quick relief. The 7th is also Mama's birthday. Wish we were going to be there to celebrate.
December 5th is also my cousin Kelly's birthday...Happy birthday!! 
Kelly has just returned to the states after a really tough year. Here's hoping for a really good year to come Kelly!!
Braden is doing great! They wrapped up an awesome football season - only lost 1 game. He seems to have really enjoyed playing and he did a great job on offense and defense. And this was his first year to play! He got an A+ on his Science project. It was an experiement to see how salt effects the boiling time for water. He found scientifi documentation that stated it slowed the process and documentation that supported the idea of salt speeding up the process. His own experiment proved that salt indeed speeds up the process. Good job Braden! He really has made a smooth transition into public school this year and seems to be really enjoying it. Just as we had hoped he has been able to maintain some friendships from his former school and has made new friends too. We are so grateful that he has had this time to make the transition before moving into junior high.
So much going on! I haven't really started getting ready for Christmas, and yet, I have been thinking about making the trip home for some time. We are really looking forward to being back in the south celebrating with family and hope that we will be able to make the trip. We hope that Ryan and I may extend our visit and stay for a while, but we are still trying to work out those details at this time. With so many things up in the air, it's hard to plan more than a couple days ahead. We'll see how it goes and try to let everyone know as soon as plans are made. It would really be great to see as many of our friends and family as possible while we are there. As you start to plan your travel/vacation/ times, drop me a note and let me know what you are up to and we will try to coordinate schedules.
We have a high of 24 for today. We had a high of 15 yesterday...yes, it actually warmed up to snow. It started snowing about 9:00 this morning...first real snow of the season. (hard to believe we still had green grass in November!) They have predicted 5-8 inches today and another one tonight. At the rate it's falling, we won't have any problem getting 8 inches. It very dry - light and fluffy. It's beautiful coming down and fun to see. It's the realization that we won't see grass again before next April, at the earliest, that gets very depressing.
Many of you have talked about wanting to come up and see the snow. It feels like our lives are finally going to settle down (fingers crossed) and maybe it will be a good year for snow...let us know if you think you might make it this far north. We would love to have visitors.
I think it's time to go check my soup making supplies....Let it snow! Let it snow! Let is snow!
